How To Hyperlink Your Header

UPDATE: The tips and tricks on this are to do with XSite Pro Version 1 only. Click here for news on XSite Pro Version 2.

XSite Pro makes it a breeze to add headers to your website.

However, the makers of XSite Pro (who are legends) left off the ability to add a hyperlink to your header. (I suspect this will be forthcoming in Version 2).

For now, here's the easiest way I know to add a hyperlink to your header so that users will be able to click on it and return to your homepage.

To start off, don't use the conventional method of adding a header in XSite Pro. This means leave the box blank:

Leave the background box blank. I have highlighted it in red for you.

The next thing you do is to check the box marked "use custom html" (don't worry, you won't be using any). After that, click the "Designer" button:

Check the box marked "use custom html". Then click the button marked "Designer".

Next, a new window called "Header HTML" should appear. Click the yellow button (circled in red below):

After that, a second new window called "Picture" will appear.
Click the "Browse" button:

The next thing to happen is that a third window, also called "Picture" will appear. Double click the image you are going to use for your website header:

Selecting The Header

Double-click the image you want to use for your header.

Here's the bit where you insert a hyperlink into your header. Right-click on your image and select "Insert Link > Home":

Right-click on your image to insert a link to your home page.

You have now inserted a link from your header to your homepage:

Header Is A Clickable Link

You now have a clickable header that links to your homepage.
